2024 April PAD Challenge: Day 13

Here’s the 2024 April Poem-A-Day Challenge. For today’s prompt, write a living poem.  Some people like to live it up, while others focus solely on being alive.

Alive! Alive!
"He's alive and I'm forgiven.
Heaven's gates are open wide."
Words in a country-gospel song
about when Jesus died.

It's written by Don Francisco,
(Simon Peter's point of view),
But the words are eternal
for both me and yes, you.

All is lost when HE's arrested.
Simon Peter loses hope.
Afraid, he curses Jesus,
Then weeps, hides, can't cope.

The tomb.
Doom.
Huddled in a room
Afraid.
Dismayed.
Broken heart frayed.

Then the crazy women come,
Shouting praise and glee.
He's arisen. We saw Him.
"What? He wants to see ME???"

Running.
Me and John.
Hope arising
Yes, He's gone!
The tomb is empty!
There, the grave clothes!
Oh, my LORD Jesus...
HE AROSE!!

"He's alive, and I'm forgiven.
Heaven's gates are open wide.
He's alive. HE'S ALIVE!"
