A Book Review by Jackie Houchin
Jacqueline Vick had done it again with her tongue-in-cheek humor and her oh-so-different but still partners-in-solving crime Harlow brothers.
Staid and proper is Edward who writes books on proper manners, while fun loving Nicholas works as his secretary. Not only does Edward write under the pseudonym of “Aunt Civility,” we learn now that he has written a sports book using his own name.
This is the reason he dragged Nicholas to a Christmas party in honor of a well-known newspaper sports editor. He hopes his easy-going brother can wrangle an interview. However, after the events of this party with the rude Santa Claus and the out-of-control orphans, as well as the murder and mayhem involved, Edward will be lucky to get a passing glance from the man
I always chuckle when I read the Harlow Brothers stories. I know that separately, they both can mess up, but together they solve some twisty mysteries. They need each other’s talents, even if they won’t admit it.
Vick’s books are always good clean fun. *Littoral means “by the sand.”
