BOOK REVIEW – An Auction of Secrets: A British Cozy Murder Mystery (A Cotswold Antique Mystery Book 1)

by Victoria Tait (Author)

What fun!  Dotty and Keya are back in Victoria Tait‘s new cozy mystery, AN AUCTION OF SECRETS, and they both have new jobs!  It looks like Dotty is moving into management at the antique house, and Keya now peers minutely at crime scene evidence instead of chasing the bad guys.  (Okay, she fudges a little on that!)

This new series has undertones of World War II history. A few items Dotty finds in a house she’s considering for auction don’t look promising at first – a dusty painting and a pretty gold owl pendant. But soon, these items become the center of a twisted mystery … and murder.

Dotty’s and Keya’s worlds meet, part, and come together again as they investigate a treasure and a small unit of soldiers in war-torn France with a long-hidden secret. There is danger involved (watch out, Dotty!), and neither the antique nor the crime scene specialist expects what they uncover.

Meanwhile, a Cotswold bookshop and a cafe (no, not the Waterwheel Cafe) change hands, and plans are made for the complete renovation of the Akeman’s Antique Center, with, guess who in charge?   This book is full of interesting things and people, exciting futures, as well as some old familiar friendships and settings.  It’s a new burst of energy. It’s refreshing. And I loved it.
