STORY REVIEW – The Chemist of Escondida (Spies of Escondida Book 2)

Story review by Jackie Houchin

THE CHEMIST OF ESCONDIDA is the second in the current Spies of Escondida series by Lottie Morgan. It features Bria, the Elite Squad’s new Chemist. She has taken off two years to earn PHD’s in the field and is now ready to be useful. We see her using the concoctions she makes three times in this short story – once to soothe and heal herself after rough treatment, and twice in the team’s plan to defeat their enemy, Valeria, and the El Orden terrorist cell.

The story is fast moving, descriptive, and full of action. For a newby to the series the many spy names might be a bit confusing. (Read the first in the series first would be my suggestion.) The main characters, however, are fairly straightforward. There is a hint of romance, and some father/daughter relaxed banter that is fun.

The present danger is eliminated, but a loose end – a very dangerous one – will still need tying up in the next story.
